Teaser Tuesdays hosted by Should be Reading and is a book meme that asks you to grab a random teaser quote from the book you are currently reading. Posting spoilers are a no no but anything else is fair game.
Two teasers again this week. I finished off The Summoning yesterday and I LOVED it. I didn't want everyone to to miss out on a quote from this fantastic book. I have also just started The Forest of Hands and Teeth so my teaser is from the first page. I went for a couple of sentances to give it a little more context.
"Then it touched me again. Long, dry, cold, fingerlike things trickled across the back of my neck. An indescribable smacking, cracking, rustling sound set my every hair on end"
The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong Pg 235
"My mother used to tell me about the ocean. She said there was a place where there was nothing but water as far as you could see and it was always moving, rushing toward you and then away. She once showed me a picture that she said was my great-great-great-grandmother standing in the ocean as a child."
The Forest of Hands & Teeth by Carrie Ryan Pg 1
Is the forest of hands & teeth a library book - or a book that can be passed on to someone who has it on their wish list?
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser from The Summoning, glad you enjoyed it. Hope you've got The Awakening to carry straight on with??
ReplyDeleteOoh. Spooky. Nice teasers. Mine's up.
ReplyDeleteBoth are on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteTuesdays: Teaser/Whereabouts
Good teaser! The Summoning has piqued my interest!
ReplyDeleteGood teasers, different in style.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, what a spooky teaser! Very tantalizing and kind of goosebump producing. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, my own teaser is up, at Bookishgal.
I really love both of those selections. I also notice that the second one comes from the opening page. It piqued my interest - that's for sure. I can't fathom never having seen an ocean.
ReplyDeleteThe first one was creepy! The second one I really liked! Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteSpooky reading!
ReplyDeleteI really like Kelly Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series. I am glad you enjoyed The Summoning.
ReplyDeleteBoth are great teasers!
Great teasers, Mandy. The first one is eerie and creepy and the second one is sweet. Great contrasts to one another.
ReplyDeleteThose were great teasers and now I need to read The Summoning and Forest!!!
ReplyDeleteI really liked the contrasts as well Thanks Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteStaci definitely read the Summoning I couldn't put it down.
The Bumbles - I thought that would make a good teaser for precisely that reason.
Teddyre - No I dont have book 2 yet. But a friend pointed out it might be worth waiting now till book 3 comes out and read them all in one hit. That way no waiting between book 2 and 3 LOL.
